The San Diego Technical Diving Community
Technical diving is better when it’s shared.
California Dive Guy exists to bring together divers who take their craft seriously—whether you’re just starting down the technical path, actively diving OC tech, or already on a rebreather. This community is built around shared standards, mutual respect, and real-world Pacific diving experience.
This is not a club.
It’s a network of divers who plan carefully, dive deliberately, and look out for each other.
Who This Community Is For
This space is intentionally inclusive—but not unfocused.
You’ll feel at home here if you:
Are curious about technical or decompression diving
Are an active OC technical diver looking for solid teammates
Dive CCR and want a stronger local network
Value team diving, preparation, and continuous improvement
Prefer honest conversations over ego and shortcuts
You don’t need to be “advanced.”
You do need to be intentional.
What the Community Offers
🧭 Local Knowledge
San Diego diving has its own rules—surf, kelp, cold water, and variable conditions. The community shares hard-earned local insights so divers don’t have to learn everything the hard way.
🤝 Connection
Finding capable dive partners shouldn’t be luck-based. This community helps divers connect around experience level, interests, and availability.
🧠 Mentorship
Technical diving is a long game. Mentorship—formal or informal—helps divers progress thoughtfully rather than rushing through milestones.
🫁 Rebreather Visibility
CCR divers are often scattered and siloed. Here, rebreather diving is part of the conversation, not an afterthought.
